We bought our van new. In Sept. 2007 we took it to the shop because it was jerking when shifting between 1st and 2nd gears (about 15 mph). After looking it over they determined it was a software problem and that they would have to wait for Chrysler to come out with a fix. We took it back in January of 2008 because it was getting worse and Chrysler still had no fix. Took it back in June 2008 and they reconditioned the transmission and reprogrammed it. (Chyrsler still had no software fix) but, it did fix the problem for about 4-5 months before it started doing it again. They are still saying that it is a programming problem and that they have to wait for software to be developed to fix the problem. The Dealership and Service Center at Chrysler both say this.

I'm totally confused. If reconditioning and reprogramming the transmission fixed it once for a while...why can't this be done again. I understand that it is a programming/computer issue, but wouldn't replacing the transmission fix the problem??

I'm having a hard time believing that it is taking Chrysler almost 2 years to come up with a "software fix".

Any ideas/suggestions?
