Removal & Installation
Before servicing the vehicle, refer to the Precautions Section.
Relieve the fuel system pressure.
Drain the fuel tank.
Remove or disconnect the following:
Negative battery cable
Fuel tank straps. Support the fuel tank before loosening the strap bolts.
Fuel lines
Fuel pump module harness connector
Lower the tank for access and remove the fuel pump module locking ring and the fuel pump module.
To install:
Install or connect the following:
Fuel pump module. Tighten the locking ring to 40 ft. lbs. (54 Nm).
Fuel pump module harness connector
Fuel lines
Fuel tank straps. Tighten the main tank straps to 40 ft. lbs. (54 Nm) and the T strap to 250 inch lbs. (28 Nm).
Negative battery cable
Start the engine and check for leaks.
