2003 Grand Caravan instrument panel problem...When starting the van the speedometer and tach go from zero to max, and slowly back to zero. The gear indicator and odometer go out, and the fuel indicator goes to "E". This all happens at the same time. When the speedometer and tach get back to zero they start working. Then the gear indicator and odometer come on, and the low fuel lite comes on just before the fuel guage goes back to the correct reading. This happens usually on the first start of the day. The start indications after that are normal. What's going on? Thanks!

Do a simple test really quickly. While pressing the button to switch/reset the mileage, turn the key to ON position but don't start. That will have the computer to test the gauge cluster and harness. Should take about 45 seconds. If the test proves OK, there may be something wrong with your body control module , located behind left side of dash.
