2002 Dodge Caravan Automatic 104000 miles

My van started making a noise like a wind up toy then it doesn't want to go into any gear when i press the gas pedal it sounds like its in neutral then after a few attempts it roughly goes into gear and drives. It will keep doing it every few miinutes. There was no problem before(to my knowledge) I have been driving it since february with no problems at all.

Has the check engine light come on? It may be related to the trans control module (TCM) which should set the check engine light.

Let me know.

Yes it did and I noticed it will seem fine until it gets hot, the gauge gets just between the "hot" and "cold" exactly in between then it makes the noise and doesn't want to go.

If the light came on, then there is a trouble code stored in the computer. What I recommend is this. Take the vehicle to a nationally recognized parts store and have them scan the computer. Most will do it for free. Find out what the trouble code is, and let me know.
