Brakes problem
2002 Dodge Caravan 6 cyl 137000 miles

My husband is replacing the brake shoes and drums on our 2002. He is having trouble getting the new rim on over the brake shoes. Are there any trick to getting this done? He can only get part of the drum to fit over the shoe.

Tell him to back off on the self-adjuster star wheel. It has notches for adjusting the brakes when they are applied in reverse. He can use a ruler to measure the drum, and the outside of the shoes. Have him remove and put some white grease on the adjuster threads for better action.
Common problem. ASBESTOS DANGER ok
