Electrical problem
2002 Dodge Caravan 6 cyl Two Wheel Drive Automatic

I HAVE A 2002 DODGE GRAND CARAVAN IT RUNS GOOD BUT AFTER A WHILE IT DIED ON ME WHILE RUNNING, PUT IT IN NEUTRAL AND STARTED, BUT NOW, IT HAPPENS MORE OFTEN AND I HAVE TO WAIT FOR IT TO COOL DOWN A FEW MINUTES. WHEN I OPENED THE HOOD I HEARD CLICKING IN THE FUSE BOX BUT DID NOT KNOW WHICH ONE IT WAS. I CHANGED THE FUEL FILTER AND TUNED IT UP BUT STILL DIES OFF. MY MECHANIC SAYS WE HAVE TO CHANGE FUEL PUMP AND CAM SENSOR, BUT WOULD LIKE TO MAKE SURE THAT THAT IS THE PROBLEM SINCE MY WIFE USES IT TO TAKE OUR THREE KIDS TO SCHOOL AND THE SHUT DOWN CAN BE SCARRY. HELP PLEASE!!

While it is possible for the fuel pump and/or cam sensor to do what you are describing, I would try more economical approach.

The clicking sound in the fuse/relay box that you hear is probably the fuel pump relay. If you open the fuse/relay box, under the cover should have a diagram as to which is what. Try replace the relay that says something to do with fuel: Fuel pump relay, fuel pump cutoff relay, fuel injector, etc...
