2001 Dodge Caravan transmission replacement

My 2001 Dodge Caravan has 110,000 miles on it. It won't go over 30mph. The dealer says it's the transmission. He says it will cost over $2400 to fix. That sounds a little high to me. Is it?

a little high. usually transmission solenoids fail on this vehicle leaving it in first gear. take it to a trans shop and get a second opinion
