2001 Dodge Caravan not sure if this is transmission going o

I have a 2001 Dodge Grand Caravan. I have had no issues with the car, drives fine,sounds fine, but check engine light came on on Friday. Driving home on Monday, I lost the ability to accelerate. The engine will rev and RPMs go up, but I can't get the car to go over 5 mph. The car will not go in reverse, I can shift into reverse, but the car will not accelerate in reverse. In addition, I can go forward and then put the car in reverse and the car will go in reverse to the original position. I have checked the transmission fluid level and it seems full, however, the transmission filter has never been replaced. I don't believe the transmission fluid has ever been replaced either. Can you help? Thanks:)

The key is the check engine light
and have to check for codes
codes should indicate to what is happening and for a reason
once have codes let me know

Got the following codes: 0700, 0715, 0720, 0732, 0740. Went and changed fluid and trans filter last night. Didn't help. MIL light is still on and car won't accelerate in reverse. When put in gear, doesn't grind, but does sound like the gears aren't connecting. There were some fine shavings on the magnet, but I know the filter hasn't been changed in at least 70000 miles. Thanks for your help

DTC P0715 will set if there is an excessive change in input RPM in any gear. DTC sets as a one trip fault and will take 5 minutes of substituted operation before transaxle is in limp-in mode.
Possible Cause
Open output speed sensor ground circuit.
Open output speed sensor signal circuit.
Malfunctioning sensor.
Sensor shorted to ground.
Sensor shorted to voltage.
Malfunctioning TCM.


DTCs P0720 will set if there is an excessive change in output RPM in any gear. DTC sets as a one trip fault and will take 5 minutes of substituted operation before transaxle is in limp-in mode.
Possible Cause
Open input speed sensor ground circuit.
Damaged ignition wiring.
Open input speed sensor signal circuit.
Malfunctioning sensor.
Sensor shorted to ground.
Malfunctioning TCM.

An intermittent code is a DTC occurring intermittently and is most likely caused by faulty wiring or connections. Intermittent code indicates a failure does not exist every time TCM checks the system. Intermittent codes P0731, P0732, P0733, P0734 and P0736 are usually caused by intermittent hydraulic seal leakage in clutch and/or accumulator circuits. Intermittent codes must be checked under conditions in which they would be set.

DTC P0740 can be caused by the following:
Faulty torque converter.
Contaminated and/or low transmission fluid.
Faulty or stuck TCC solenoid.
Engine misfire related DTC set.
Open fused ignition switch output circuit.
