2001 Dodge Caravan No heat

I'm getting no heat when heater is turned on. Neighbor mechanic MADE SURE heater hoses were hot, and he checker area under dashboard. He surmises problem is that the inner heater door flap has literally fallen off inside. Suggests I go to dealer. He estimates close to $300. Could this be correct???

If it is the blend door I would estimate a lot more than $300
