I noticed the heater will take too long to get hot and will switch from hot to cold while driving. It will blow very cold until I see the cooling fans come on (usually noticed when headlamps dim for a second), then it starts to blow hot air. After driving 2-3 minutes the temp gauges will drop slightly and the heat gets cold again. It seems to constantly repeat this cycle. No work has been done to heater or cooling system.. Thanks for any input. Joe

Check coolant
and thermostat
I would suspect that the system is low on coolant
