Electrical problem

Key will not turn from time to time. One key usually works in one direction but stopped at one point. After wiggling the key and shaking the shifter column handle the key will turn and engine will start. Might work for a week then all of a sudden will stop again. I suspected the keys where worn, but it happened with what I thought was the good key.
