WHEN STARTINGAND WARMING UP MY VAN AND WHEN SITTING AT A STOP LIGHT MY IDLER PULLY MAKES A LOT OF NOISE. DEALERSHIP TOLD ME TO REPLACE IT. I DID, 5 TIMES, AND IT FIXES IT FOR A WEEK OR SO BUT IT GOES BACK TO THE SAME OLD NOISE. I NOTICED THAT IT MUST HAVE SOMETHING TO DO WITH THE IDLE, BECAUSE WHEN SITTING STILL, IT COMES AND GOES WITH THE RPM OF THE ENGINE. NO CODES ARE PRESENT AND THE BELT AND TENSIONER HAVE BEEN REPLACED SEVERAL TIMES. WHAT ELSE SHOULD I CHECK?

Hi:
I want you to try an experiment. With the engine running and the car in park, open the hood. Now, get a cup of water and pour a small amount of water on the belt itself. Protect your eyes because it will most likely splash.

Let me know if the sound stops for a short time or if nothing changes.

Joe
