Transmission problem
2000 Dodge Caravan V8 Automatic 150000 miles

Why does the transmission sliip from drive to low when I am driving? It seems to happen mostly when I am going 40 mph or under and going around a curve or up or down a hill or even when braking.

it is called "limp-in" mode. The idea being to allow the customer 2nd and reverse gears to drive in for dealership service instead of towing. It may be electrical, mechanical, or hydraulic failure. CHECK FLUID and condition first to make sure it is not just a leak. ok
