Transmission problem
2000 Dodge Caravan 6 cyl Front Wheel Drive Automatic

My transmission is leaking pretty bad but my mechanic says that he will have to remove the entire transmission to find out where the leak is coming from, is this true? I do not have any actual problems even though it's constantly losing fluid, the shifting is fine and driving is also fine but I know that it's leaking because there is pink all over my driveway. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated so I can try to save myself some money, just had another dodge vehicle 2 years ago and replaced the whole transmission and really don't want to do it again.

Thank you kindly!

Hi:
I strongly recommend taking it for a second opinion. I can't think of anywhere on the trans that it could leak from and not be identified.

Can you tell me if it's coming from the rear, front, side, pan area...
