My van has recently started having an issue when starting. When turning the ignition at times, the lights and such dim and the van has a hard time starting. There is no clicking. I have also just started having a problem with my tach and speedometer not working intermittently. Not sure if this is related. I'm thinking this is a starter problem but want to know how difficult this is to replace and where is the starter located?

Thanks for the help!

Hi there,
lets try to isolate the problem your having. First off, Im not sure what you mean when you say your tachometer and speedometer are not working intermittingly. Maybe you mean simultaneously?
At any rate, your right. It's probably not related to your starter. Anyway, the starter is relatively simple to locate and replace. Remember to disconnect the battery FIRST!!. The positive cable runs directly to your starter and if your wrench grounds it, serious damage to you and your car will occur. I hope this helps...good luck!

As far as the tach and speedometer go, they both stop working on and off. Again, not sure this is related. Im wanting to know if anyone knows exactly where the starter is located on this vehicle. Being a front wheel drive and the way the engine is pushed so far under the dash area, Im concerned with the accessibility of it.

I appreciate all the help anyone had to offer...I try to do as much myself as I can!
