Noises problem
2000 Dodge Caravan 6 cyl Front Wheel Drive Automatic

Hope you can help. I first had a little squeal, took it to garage, they replaced serpintine belt. After driving for several miles the squeal was back. Took it in again, they said the belt might have been faulity so put another one on. Same thing happened. The idiler arm pully as well as belt tensioner pully was replaced. Then it was suggested that the altinator might have a bearing going out, so we replaced that. It was fine for a short while but now the squeal is back worse than ever. Do you have any suggestions for me. I am a single mom and don't know anything about cars, but know enough to not keep pouring money trying out different things.
Thank-you

Hi:
I have a "Generic" test for you to try. With the engine running, pour a small amount on one belt at a time. It the sound changes or stops, you found the belt that is making noise. Check it for tension and condition.

NOTE: Whe pouring the water on a spinning belt, it will fling / splash. Protect your eyes from the water.

I hope this helps you, and if you have anyother questions, let me know.

Joe
