Rear heater bypass

Engine Cooling problem 6 cyl Two Wheel Drive Automatic 140000 miles

The heater lines going to the aux. Rear heater have split and rusted pretty bad as far as I can see where they go over the exhaust behind the engine. I would be happy to simply bypass the rear heater, the problem is I cant figure out what lines go where, and getting to them is a real nightmare. It appears that one line comes from the drivers side of the block and goes to a tee behind and above the engine (it is all I can do to fell it because of the location), the other comes from the front of the block and goes to possibly another tee (once again I can't even feel this one). My Question is can I simply take the two lines coming from the engine and run them straight to the heater core outlets on the firewall, I assume the valves must be beyond the firewall, and if so which line goes to the top and which goes to the bottom at the firewall. I have removed the air intake, battery and choke to get some room. Thanks in advance.

Hello,

You can either remove the heater hoses at the rear heater core or bypass the hoses by cutting them and using a small 5/8 OD tube or pipe to make them connected together with hose clamps. at the front or rear of the car you must look to see which one is easier here are diagrams (below) to help you see what's going on.

This guide will give you an idea of what you are in for
