my signal lights, left signal and right signal, only work after the car is thorougly warmed up. in summer they pretty much work all the time. In winter, it takes half an hour of driving before they work normally. This does not affect my 4 ways hazard lights, just signal lights. So it's not the light bulbs themselves, but somethin in the steering assembly?

Any ideas?

The fault will be with the turn siginal switch. Could be worn contacts that is affected by temp.
