2000 Dodge Caravan All of a sudden

When I start my 2000 Dodge GRAND Caravan, nothing on the instrument cluster works. No gauges or digital mileage readout as well as gear indicator. When shifted to gear, all gauges come on and work properly. The gear indicators come on as well but all positions have the square highlighted around them and the vehicle will not shift out of first gear, no matter what gear I start out in. I also have a constant engine light. This happened all of a sudden as I exited the interstate at a slow speed. Thank you for your time.
