Put a tablespoon of 30W oil in it and recheck the compression

Sorry it took so long to get back to you. My husband runs a poulty farm and someone turned the water off in the barn and we lost 3000 birds.
anyway we tried the putting the oil in it and rechecked the compression The compression went to 175

Normal compression is 178psi -what was it before the oil application? If its below 140psi you have a ring problem.
