Can't get to 2 bolts of the valve cover because they are covered by a metal tube which I believe is attached to the injectors. My repair manual does not provide details for how to get the tube out of the way.

How should I go about moving the metal tube and what should I be careful of?

your going to have to loosen up the fuel rail and pop it out that way you can get to the bolts that way you can remove teh valve cover. the cover may not even come off if you manage to get teh bolts out with the fuel rail still there.
