Van has to warmup before it will Move

On cold mornings, van has to warmup before it will move. If you don't warmup, and back out of the driveway, the van will not move when you put it into drive. Is it advisable to have the tranny fluid and filter changed. I have heard yes and no to this question. Will changing the fluid fix the problem? Thank you for your advise.

I would check it first, hot. It may just be low and expand as it heats up. If it is low, check it for leaks and if it's in dirty condition definitely change the fluid and filter. It does have quite a few miles but if it is on it's way, it's best to know by looking in the pan. You might be able to save it then.
