i drive this van and half mile to a mile down the road it looses power, i let it cool down and it will be fine for another half mile to a mile it doesn't show that it gets hot or anything and it shifts gears fine the van is really good condition except for that problem. i'm guessing it will run good till the transmission oil gets hot then it will lose power but once the oil cools down it will run again and so on

well first of all i am not convinced that its your trans. does it slip, lose all movement, shudder???
when it does this next time and you pull over try putting it in nuetral and giving it some throttle to see if the engine revs-up freely or if it doesnt want to very quick ,what im getting at is that it may very well be your catalatyc converter that is partially plugged up, if so then you would probaly feel some very hot air around the pipe(catalatyc converter)or sometimes at night it will even glow cherry red from the heat,BUT DO NOT TOUCH THE PIPE OR CONVERTER
The converter is under the van in the front door area of the exhaust it would be an enlarged piece in the exhaust pipe kind of like a muffler but it is located in front of the muffler closer to the engine than the muffler. Let me know if this helps
Hope this helps,wahaskell2
