In order for me to change the thermostat can I access the petcock from up top as opposed to underneath the car since I do not own a floor jack, Is the petcock located underneath the rad on the side closest to the drivers side. I am used to wing nut petcocks on older vehicles is this the same. Do I just tap it counter clockwise to open. Also do I have to take the housing fixture off the hose that mates to teh block or can I just keep it on while changing the thermostat. Thx

The petcock is the same. It is a wingnut type set-up. And if I remember correctly, it's on the driver's side and there are too many things to access it from the top.

As far as the thermostat, you need to remove the housing to access it.

If you have other questions, let me know.
