1998 Dodge Caravan 98 Dodge Grand Caravan

Van has been making noise for about a week. Runs fine but sounds like a diesel truck, normally does not run loud at all. I thought at first it was due to the cold weather and not letting it warm up enough. Warming up or driving for extended period of time doesn't make a difference. Temperature does not run hot either. Any suggestions what this might be?

You've checked for exhaust system leaks? Can be in hard-to-see places. Once I replaced a muffler and only then found the leak was in the pipe just upstream from it, a hole I could only see with a mirror.
