1997 Dodge Caravan Engine Problem

The engine was running and then while stopped and the engine at an idle. The motor just went dead. Now it will turn over but wont start. It pops and makes firing noises but just wont start. Any Ideas?

Check for fuel pressure and try and listen if the fuel pump coming on when 1st key on
if you have spark and fuel pressure OK
do a compression test
