Electrical problem
1997 Dodge Caravan 6 cyl Front Wheel Drive Automatic 155k miles

This has happened 3 times since I have owned the vehicle. Starter engages, turns engine, engine runs for about 10 seconds, then dies. No neon Odometer or gear selector indicators. The oil indicator and antilock brake indicators remain lit. Makes no difference if engine has been running previously, or is cold. The condition has gone away after it has set for a undetermined period. I had it towed in on one occasion, but by the time it arrived for repair, the van started without a flaw. Codes were run, but nothing was discovered.

When it doesn't start, you need to check if it is getting spark and fuel. One will be missing.

Without being there, I would say the crank sensor is bad, but it could be a fuel issue too. Let me know what you find when you check it.
