While driving on the highway the drive belt frayed and cut the wire to the Crankshaft Position Sensor. I changed the belt and the Crankshaft Position Sensor. Now the car will not start. It turns over but does not start. I checked the spark plugs and there is no spark. I checked the fuse box and heard one of the relays clicking. It was an Auto shutoff relay. Is it blocking the circuits somehow. Everything else electrical works. Lights and everything. It just will not start. What could be the problem. I thought that the connector that the frayed belt cut is stuck somewhere in the lower engine compartment but I don't smell melted plastic when I am down there. Anyway what could it be. Thank you in advance. Front Yard Mechanic. LOL

Are you sure you rewired it properly? Also, if the ASD relay is clicking, check the switch to see if there is a reset. Finally, you mentioned that the connector is somewhere down in the engine compartment. Are you still using the same wires?

I checked the part with the original Crankshaft Position Sensor. They are not the same. So I am going to get the right one tomorrow. I will get in touch soon. My wife is giving me tell Friday to fix it or to the dealership we go.
