Our driver side brake light is out - every other light in the van works. We've checked the fuse, the plug by the brake pedal, the socket and of course the bulb. Is there somewhere else we're missing so we can avoid have to pay a couple hundred dollars in labor for a mechanic who specializes in electrical?

Identify the white and tan wire at the bulb socket this wire goes to a splice at the floor pan harness near split for tail lamps. This where the left rear brake light gets power.
