replaced bulbs and still does not work, tail lights and brake lights work and turn signals work

Check for voltage on the violet / black stripe wire on either socket when the ignition switch is in the "run" position and the transmission is in "reverse". If it's missing, suspect the "park / neutral position switch. A quick test to identify a defective switch is to bypass it at its connector. You can leave it in "park". Turn the ignition switch to "run", unplug the three-wire connector, and use a paper clip or piece of wire to connect the terminals for the white wire and violet / black stripe wire. If the backup lights are on, replace the switch.
