We have a major oil leak. We have replaced water pump o-ring gasket on oil pump valve cover gaskets and gromits pan gasket replaced water pump and timing belt. Seems to be coming from behind engine which is a 3.0 mishubishi I think near the fire wall. Not coming from valve cover gasket, seems to be lower and cannot see. Is there something else that has a gasket around the area of No. ! Or 3 pistons or would we have to pull the engine? Please help!

The only thing I can think of is the head gasket. Could it be coming from the intake and running down where you see it? Also, try this. With engine cleaner, clean the engine off and all the old oil. Next, go to the parts store and purchase an engine oil dye. Place it in the engine and run the engine. Using a black light, the dye should glow showing you where the leak is coming from.

Also, are you sure it is engine oil and not from the power steering pump?

Let me know, and thanks for using 2carpros. Com.
