My car will occassionally gallop a bit while driving. After the gallop, there is an unusual humming/hissing sound coming from the engine. The check engine light recently came on. The mechanic said it will cost over $2000 for parts and labor to repair the 2 sensors in the engine. Is this a fair pricez? I have always thought my mechanic overcharges me. Previously, I would simply say do the repairs and I would go away. Now, I am unemployed and need to make sure he is charging me fairly. You also know how some mechanics are towards females.
