1996 Dodge Caravan battery indicator lights up

Hi,
Just changed the 2 year old battery on my '96 dodge grand caravan se. With a new battery, after a few minutes driving it, the battery indicator on the dash lit up with an accompanying tone. Drives with no problem. When I restart the engine, it will take a few minutes before the battery indicator will light up again. What's the likely problem?

To rule out the alternator as the problem get it load tested and double check all connections at battery and starter.
