Electrical problem
1995 Dodge Caravan 6 cyl Two Wheel Drive Automatic

i need to replace my pcm because my alternator isnt charging properly. Only 11 volts.I was told my voltage regulator was part of my pcm.I dont want to be steered the wrong way cause I dont have much money and I use my van for work. It is a 3.0 litre. If I replace my pcm how many bolts hold it on to the fender, and what parts do I have to remove to make it come out. Any suggestions you have would be greatly appreciated. If there is anything else you need to know just email me direct slash672001@yahoo. Com, my name is darrin. Any info you could help me with is better than what I got now.A garage gave my some price of 800.00 to diagnose and fix my problem but the van isnt even worth that much. Anyways thanks for your time. Hope you can help me out. Bye Darrin.

It is true that your voltage regulator is inside the PCM. But before you shell out money for a new PCM, bench-test the alternator output first.

Remove the alternator from the vehicle and take it down to a Checker O'Reilly, Autozone, whatever you have around you and have them test the alternator with their machine. If the alternator passes the test, then replace your PCM, if not just replace your alternator. PCM doesn't normally go bad, but alternator does. It may save you money.
