1995 Dodge Caravan cv shaft and differential

I have no drive or park. I put the car in drive and the input shaft moves up and down but does not rotate cv shaft.its like the spline on the shaft is stripped where it goes into the differential. Is this possible.

yes, it sure was, you can remove the inspection cover to check everything, because the differential may have failed also.
