1995 Dodge Caravan @150,000 k nop shift out of first

How are you doing?First off great page, tons of info. On to my question.I have a 1995 dodge caravan se with 150,000 k 3.0 litre with a 3 speed trans with overdrive. It will not shift out of first gear automatically or manually. Changed filter and gasket minimal shavings in pan (@ half a thumb print, clean fluid). Once the car hits @ 4000 rpm the check engine light kicks on. Have not had scanned yet.I personally do not think it needs a rebuilt trans. The vehicle speed sensor has also been changed recently. Could it be anouther sensor or trans comp. Any help or ideas will be greatly appreciated. Thank-you
