When the engine is hot the coolant leaves the radiator and goes into the canister, but when the engine cools down the coolant does not return to the radiator. Each time you start the engine and run errands, the coolant flows into the canister but does not return to the radiator when the engine cools down. After repeating this several times the canister overflows and the engine overheats.

Hi:

Try to replace the hose between the radiator and the overflow canister. I have a feeling that the hose may collapse when there is a vacuum not allowing the coolant to return.

Let me know if it works.
