Is it easier on 3.3 cylinder to pull the alternator from the top or the engine (removing mounting bracket) or bottom by the removing exhaust pipe. Also I am leakining antifreeze from the base of the water pump should I just replace the hose (well aged) or the whole thing since I'm doing the alternator and belt?

Ive done it both ways and I thought that removing it from the bottom was alot easier and I did not have to remove the exhaust system. Just loosened it from the top and wiggled it out from the bottom. Of course I had access to a lift. Secondly you would be saving yourself some problems in the future by just replaceing the hose and pump. Thirdly if you decide to change the alternator by removing the bracket its a little rough the first time around locating bolts and all. But youll get it dont' get frustrated.
Let me know what happens.

I gave up on both those methods, I took off the intake manifold. The worst part, it had nothing wrong, I reassembled everything and the check engine light was no longer on the battery was now charging normally.
