My van starts to move in drive for about 200 feet then acts as if it is in neutral.I can can turn it off and wait about 1 minute and start it up put it in drive, go about 200 feet and acts as if it is in neutral.I can do this over and over but will only move 200 feet or so. It seems to be ok in reverse

No it does not matter what gear.I changed the fluid and filter last night and it did not help.I also discovered that I do not need to wait after turning the motor off.I turn the motor off and start it back up and it will go 100 feet or so and then sounds like I am in neutral.I can do this over and over.I also can go in drive 10 or so feet put it in reverse and go back and forth over and over with no problem.

I'm just kinda guessin here but to me I would question a shift silinoid or maybe the torque convertor. Do you have to back it up or could you just shift to nuetral then back to drive, only reason I ask that is maybe the fluid fills the convertor one way and then fills the next. But like I said I'm just kinda guessing. Good luck Also is the check engine light on? If it is computer related would unhooking the batt. For a few minutes reset the computer
