my transmission downshifts hard and will sometimes upshift to second gear only. if i shift to neautral and turn iignition off and on, it will ipshift to third and fourth. any solutions?

Most likely valve body problem and /or governor. You can have PCM checked for codes this will help diagnosis. When you get codes post back and will advise.
