I replaced my fuel pump with a used one. The electrical sockets are different. My old one had 4 wires and now the other one has 3 wires. The Pump gets voltage for a second as I first turn over the engine and the fuel sender registers 8 v. But the gas gauge does not register. I am asking for a wiring diagram or a lead in what direction to go.

Welcome to the forum. What did the used pump come off of, year---make-- and model. I spent 30 minutes trying to find wiring info on your vehicle. For me, the older systems are sometimes hard to find wiring info. If the fuel tank sending was for a digital instrument cluster and the used one is for a different type cluster. I'm not sure I can help you?

My info for the 92 shows the fuel pump sending unit sends a signal to the BCM, the bcm, in turn, sends a serial data signal to the instrument cluster. If you use a used pump the used one needs to be exactly like the one you took out, connector and all.

I found this diagram at showmetheparts.com/airtex/
