dose the transaxal have to be removed with the engine or can it be left in? I'm doing the work myself and have some help. I'm pulling a 1992 Dodge GrandCaravan SE 3.3L and replacing it with a 1994 Dodge Caravan 3.3L engine.

The engine comes out from the top without the transmission. Be sure to compare the flex plates, or use your old one over with the new engine. The number and position of the square notches in the outer ring changed over a period of years. The engine won't run with the wrong flex plate. Also check for cracks in the center under the circular bolt plate.
