1991 Dodge Caravan Van dies after 5 minutes of driving

I have this fabulous van that will without fail die after driving for about 5 minutes. When I try to restart it I get nothing when I turn the key. Without fail it will start again after waiting about 45 minutes. Any advice or suggestions will be helpful.

When you say you get nothing when you try to restart it, do you mean it won't restart or the starter doesn't work?
