Engine Cooling problem

hi there, I am in need of your help. I am living on minuim wage and I cannot afford to take my van to a shop. 1 of my naighbors said I needed a water pump. so i want and bought one. now everyone is saying they cannot do it or they want to much money. so i was going to get my brother to fix it. and he is not to sure ither. so I was thinking if I was able to get directions on this job that is ahead of me. I would really love to have your help.and the engine sits sideways..
