2007 Dodge Caliber steering wheel wont lock

I was in a domestically violeaet relationiip and my 2007 dodge caliber had 2000 extra miles put on it after i had it its onset of crappy performance. Once i put him out i had my thermostats changed because of overheating and then noticed the extr miles and i am the OWNER AND ONLY KEY Holder...then noticed the steering wheel wont lock now...i was told that the pin was removed and then the column replaced is their anyother way that this can be acconmplished and the car driver by[passing the sentry devie. hOW TO FIX IT???

I'm not sure I understand. If someone has the vin number of the car and can prove ownership (or a relationship to the owner) a new key can be made by a dealership. Does that answer your question?
