My 2007 Dodge Caliber began overheating last night. i stopped and let it sit for a bit and added coolant and was able to get it home without problems.

This morning, I drove a 1/2 mile and the engine light and electronic control light came on and the needle went to H really quick.

Any ideas on what the problem is?

It could be many things. Have you tried replacing the thermostat, are there any leaks?
