Computer problem 4 cyl Two Wheel Drive Automatic 15678 miles

While driving on the freeway the engine just quit, after a few minutes I was able to restart it after about 100 more miles it quit again this time I wasn't able to get it to start, all the electrical seems to work the starter won't engage and when turning the key whith the lights on they don't dimm as when power is pulled for the starter.

Did you find out what was wrong with your Caliber? I had a similar issue today. I went to Autozone to get a diagnostic on my vehicle because my transmission felt like it was shifting funny. The car was running fine and I never had a problem before, but as soon as they hooked up their machine my car died abruptly. It shut off right there and will not turn on for anything. When I turn the key nothing happens at all and it doesnt pull the power for the starter either. I wound up having to get a tow back to the dealership but they are closed until Monday. Any insight on what this is or if it is similar to your scenario? What was your outcome and what was the cost for this computer repair?

I haven't found the problem yet, I am trying to find someone who makes house calls to repair vehicles.

Did you resolve your problem, if so what did you have to do.

Try resetting your anti theft unit first should be in manual. May even be an ignition switch

I drove about twenty minutes on the way to work with no problems. I was stopped at a light and my car was shaking and felt like it was going to stall. I went to go and it didn't want to go but it did. I started driving and it felt like it was going to stall. I pulled over and it shut off. A mechanic came and said I need a throttle body. I had that installed today and I still have the problem! In park it is fine. I had to drive it home. The RPMs were high. When I was stopped at a light, the RPMs were so low and I thought it was going to die. I went to go and it had no power. It look about 5 seconds to get it to go. The RPMs were so high on the way home, the temp light came on and I had to pull over and let it cool.

I think you need to get a new mechanic lol. To be honest, I don't understand why the TB would all of a sudden go bad. Was the check engine light on? Was he able to get any trouble codes from the computer? Did you ever have an overheating problem in the past?

Check engine light on
https://www.2carpros.com/articles/service-engine-soon-or-check-engine-light-on-or-flashing

Have the computer scanned for code/s-you have a problem within the engine management system that caused the CEL to turn on-This is your starting point of diagnosis, finding out what's going on.

I was driving and the lights went out for 6-7 seconds, then it began to loose power. It never cut off and I was able to cruise the rest of the way to my destination before I cut car off. After which the car never started anymore

Sounds very much like the battery went dead due to a non functioning charging system. Charge your battery fully and check your alternator.

While driving home last night the battery light came on then all the gages went crazy and it was like the car stalled, but the engine was running wide open so I pulled over and the car died but it restarted and I drove a while longer and it done it again.
