hi my car started fine as usual the other day but the battery light remained on then when i pulled over i noticed a rough idle. then on restarting the radio came on and off and warning lights like airbag and esp came on i then stopped the car and it didnt restart, i had it taken to a garage and the readings of a volt meter accross the battery while it was running with 2000rpm was 11.7, they removed the alternator and tried it on a bench rig and it working fine, they swapped the battery and it still was not being charged. hope you can help many thanks

Although I dont have access to Caliber manuals, I can tell you MOST Chrysler products control charging through the PCM(powertrain Control Module) Check fuses for PCM under the hood in the power distributin center, and aslo in the cars inter fuse box.
Check PCM ground. Check for stored codes with scantool.

Could be a problem with the PCM field generation of the alternator driver circuit

i had it taken to a garage and the readings of a volt meter accross the battery while it was running with 2000rpm was 11.7, they removed the alternator and tried it on a bench rig and it working fine,
