hi, I have a 2006 Dodge Caliber. The transmission went outside of the powertrain warranty. The first symptom that the trans was going was the transmission overheat light. The light would come on and the car would begin to wind, the tackometer would be screaming as the car tried to get into gear. If I turned the car off for a few hours it would run ok until it heated up again, then same thing. So I replaced the transmission, torc converter and trans cooler. I drove the car for one day when it started acting the same way as before the new parts went in. So I had the radiator replaced (I was told the radiator cools both the engine and the transmission. So, now the car has all these new parts and today the trans overheat light came on again! the car was once again whining and trying to get into gear. I turned it off for awhile and then drove it back to the mechanic, but the light went out and it started driving fine. We could not replicate the problem for the mechanic. What else could possible be wrong with my car!
