Avenger 1996 TURN OFF WHILE iM DRIVING

I bought a dodge Avenger 1996, has 140,000milles and since I bought Im having troubles with it, when I be in a corner or stoplight the car turn off, iinnmediatly I have to turn on again and do it, but while Im driving it makes the same thing, doesnt matter if the car is stop or running, just turn off by it self.
The check Engine is always light. Many persons try to fix it but they coudlnt
I hope someone help me
I changed wires, distributor, I checked the injectors and nothing

I have a 98 that did the same thing. The battery had top terminal that was hitting the underneath of the hood and shorting out which caused the car to shut off and engine light to come on. Might want to check just suggestion

How would I fix something like this. Put a piece of cloth inbetween the terminal and the hood?

I had the same problem with my car it would just shut off without any warning and the check engine light would be on all the time try to take it to a mechanic and ask them to check the cam shaft sensor thats what it was on my car
